LaTale Videos

Hey, everyone. I'm sorry it's been such a long time since I've posted, but film school's been keeping me real busy. I started doing YouTube videos for LaTale, though, so it'd be cool of you guys could check it out. Maybe like...comment...subscribe, haha.

That's all for now. Have a nice day, everyone.

Even More Poetry

Sorry that it's been a while since my last post. I had lent my poem collection to my friend who wanted to read them. Now that I have them back, here are two assonances. I don't have a title for either.

Potatoes mashed,
Tomatoes slashed,
Oven lights flash,
Throw scraps in the trash.
Not to shabby. Better than diaper rash.
Stir, don't thrash. Chew, don't gnash.

-

I can't leave the night.
Perhaps a knight of the heights.
Light, that unsightly plight,
Will smite those who flee in fright.
It will bite those trying to take flight.
In spite of it's great might,
With it, speed is finite and infinite,
Causing no so-said respite
By an optical fistfight.
Even the erudite
Cannot right the fight
Of this white light.

More poetry.

So, these two next poems are Poetwitt'. They are supposed to be poems that would fit in the 140 characters limit of a tweet. The first one I wrote by myself and the second was a collaboration in between my friend, David, and I.

#Wow

Cacti or cactusses?
Who knows?
They're lean,
They're green,
They're survival machines.
Under the scorching sun
These plants live up to 200 years
#wow

#Wellthen

Sometimes, Nature has fun
It creates something truly terrible
A useful creature
Who is also a humiliating one
These tall, wooly beasts
Are known as
Llamas!
#wellthen

So, yeah, these are a lot more light hearted than the haikus. They were pretty fun to write.

More in the coming days.

Poetry

So, last year, for an english project, we had to write a bunch of poems. Naturally, I did exceptionally well and I thought I'd share some with you, for fun.

I guess, today, we'll start with the haikus. None of them have a title and there isn't any correlation in between each other.

Lone mountain of snow
Reaches for the bleak heavens
As men infect it

Summer sun so bright
Over the peaceful waters
Of a dying lake

Since you asked kindly,
And, for you, I will. Only
Beware my vengeance

All your worst nightmares
Scortch your already burnt soul
Cinders to ashes

And there you have it. Hope you guys liked it. I'll post more in a few days.

Into The Woods (a movie review)

INTO THE WOODS
-
A movie critique/review

Resume: A witch tasks a childless baker and his wife with procuring magical items from classic fairy tales to reverse the curse put on their family tree.

Rating: 9/10

Into The Woods is a magnificently executed transition from the Broadway stage to the big screen. In corporating the characters from Rapunzel, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Bean Stock, the web of intertwining stories create a wonderful experience for people of all ages. The actors chosen to portray these characters were picked out very well, although it is a bit jarring and funny to see Emily Blunt go from Live. Die. Repeat. to this.

I rather enjoyed all the songs and I "Agony" sung by the princes got the whole theater laughing for a good while. The actors' singing is on point, with maybe the exception of The Baker, who can get a bit shaky a "whispery", at times.

The "after the happily-ever-after" (you'll understand when you watch it) part of the movie is good, although I did find myself checking the time once or twice, which is primarily why I'm not giving it a 10/10.

In the end, as you go in expecting a musical, you'll definitely enjoy yourself.

I'm gonna be seeing both The Theory of Everything as well as The Imitation Game next week, so I'll post of the review of those when j get the time.

Have a nice day, guys.

O', Christmas Tree

As graceful as a butterfly, the great DiNoahsaur places the golden star atop the Christmas tree.

That's me, by the way, in a dinosaur onesie. I'm 6'4".
